A non-disruptive installation using best-of-breed technologies
Projects may include single technology wireless systems or embrace the whole spectrum, including 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Tetra, PMR, LP-GSM and WiMAX. Drawing on its considerable and proven expertise at over 300 in-building sites and on thousands of radio projects, Red-M delivers a smooth, seamless, non-disruptive and expertly project-managed installation service for:
- In-Building Implementation
- Outdoor Implementation
- System Commissioning & Handover
Because Red-M is independent, it is able to deploy the very best solutions designed to meet strategic and operational objectives.
In-Building Implementation
Red-M has implemented wireless systems in more than 300 buildings throughout the UK, including the busiest airport (Heathrow) and the highest building (Canary Wharf), as well as shopping malls, manufacturing facilities and stadiums. The company is focused on a delivering a fully integrated service which will increase network capacity, enhance performance and improve coverage.
A variety of in-building wireless technologies are available including 2G, 3G, WLAN, Tetra, PMR and WiMAX. Red-M implements these both as single-technology solutions and also multi-technology environments. With the design information to hand, Red-M’s implementation teams use ISO 9000 approved project management and implementation to plan and deliver the required solution utilising its specialist consultancy and dedicated wireless audit and optimisation techniques to deliver a structured approach to the deployment of robust, scaleable wireless communications networks.

Outdoor Implementation
Extensive experience in external solutions, coupled with fully compliant civil engineering expertise, ensures that Red-M’s solutions are implemented to time, budget and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
The company’s expertise spans single technology and multi-technology solutions based on 2G, 3G, WLAN, Tetra, PMR and WiMAX.
Red-M’s service has been designed to ensure a timely, efficient implementation. The company’s personnel will attend meetings with the main contractor and third parties, throughout the course of the project, and will be responsible, as required, for supplying all the equipment, including antenna. Particularly for multi-technology implementations, Red-M typically manages all third party activities, such as cabling and work being undertaken by systems integrators. Site audits and inspections are undertaken during the installation to check adherence to the agreed design and quality standards. Regular status reports are produced and Red-M takes responsibility for connection of service prior to go-live.

Radio Extension Service
LAN Extension Services (LES), (or Short Haul Data Services [SHDS] as they are also known generically) are dedicated, high speed, point-to-point fibre-based data circuits that provide fast, seamless connections between an organisation’s sites within a metropolitan area.
Used to connect Ethernet LANs, LES enables quick and easy sharing of information. Such services are also sometimes referred to as Ethernet Extension Services (EES).
Red-M's Radio Extension Service (RES) provides a similar high speed network link, one that is equivalent in data throughput yet more cost-effective and with significantly more flexibility than LES or EES.
RES provides all of the features and functionality - and more - which you would expect from a comparable fibre-based LES solution, but with a 60% lower cost of ownership.
By using high speed radio technology to provide a more economic alternative to fibre-based circuits, RES is permanently connected and available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Using its close links to Ofcom, Red-M handles all of the necessary radio licensing issues.
RES provides the necessary Quality of Service to carry data simultaneously with delay and jitter sensitive services such as VoIP & video. It is suitable for all organisations with sites in a metropolitan area needing high capacity Ethernet-based data links to connect these sites, and also supports timing critical circuits such as an E1 for backhaul or telephony.
Red-M can cut your network free from the incumbent, inflexible - and now costly - fibre network.

RES is suitable for applications and communications where there is line-of-sight between buildings, or near line-of-sight. However, as part of its total solutions approach, Red-M also manages LES fixed/wired circuits to help ease your operational duties and assist a migration to RES, as well as providing such fibre-based fixed circuits in the rare situations where RES might not be appropriate or suitable.
Red-M provides a single point of contact, and a comprehensive supply, migration and management service, whatever your high bandwidth connectivity needs.

System Commissioning & Handover
As the final stage in the project, Red-M handles the post-implementation handover and training.
This will comprise extensive documentation including as-built drawings, systems schematics, electrical test certificates, cable test measurement and coverage plots.
