How can Red-M assist us with our wireless regulatory-related projects?
Red-M provides independent, honest-broker wireless advice, with deep expertise in all forms of wireless technology coupled with an
understanding of the commercial and economic opportunities afforded by wireless. Following significant work for Ofcom,
the UK communications regulator, Red-M also has a detailed understanding of the impacts of the evolving trend towards spectrum
liberalisation and trading. For example, Ofcom have recently published on their web site Red-M’s final report on technical studies in support of a forthcoming spectrum award.
What is the scope of Red-M's technology expertise?
The company has wide-ranging experience in many forms of wireless, including, but not limited to:

- Digital Broadcasting (both terrestrial and satellite)
- Private Mobile Radio
- Wireless broadband technologies including Wi-Fi and WiMAX
We have some quite complex projects we are working on – can you help us?
Red-M has extensive capabilities allowing it to take on a broad range of projects, including:
- Interference studies relating to the impact of proposed new services on existing networks
- Reviewing the long-term impact of new technologies on spectrum regulation, including, for example, cognitive radio and other novel spectrum sharing techniques
- Network dimensioning and planning studies to assist in assessing the most appropriate spectrum packaging options for new spectrum awards
- Coverage measurement and prediction to determine compliance with licence conditions or comparisons amongst operators
- Propagation studies, including measurement, data analysis and modelling
The Red-M difference
Red-M is independent and unbiased, adopting a completely impartial approach to any studies.
The company has experience of significant projects, including acting as BAA’s wireless strategy partner for all matters in their UK airports over the frequency range 9 kHz – 105 GHz. Red-M’s consultants have deep technical and commercial expertise, with PhD and MSc level qualifications.
